Mandana Shaya, DMD

Great Dentistry Is Built on Great Relationships

A person wearing a hat and backpack, standing amidst trees with their hand on their head, seemingly looking up towards something out of frame.

Dr. Shaya truly believes that great dentistry is built upon great relationships, and of course, all relationships require an introduction! She grew up in Baltimore County after immigrating to the US in 1995, and that background shaped the warm, welcoming way she practices: she wants every patient to feel at home in our office while receiving reliable, top-quality care.

She takes the time to learn each patient's priorities and comfort level, explains options clearly, and tailors treatment to the person in the chair, whether the visit is a routine checkup or a more involved restorative procedure.

Education & Training

The image shows a grand Gothic-style building with pointed arches and intricate details, featuring a prominent clock tower and spire, set against a clear sky and surrounded by lush green trees and a well-maintained lawn.

Dr. Shaya graduated cum laude from George Washington University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2010, then earned her DMD from the University of Pittsburgh in 2015. She went on to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the University of Pittsburgh in 2016, gaining intensive hands-on experience across the full range of general dentistry.

After several years in Pittsburgh, Dr. Shaya returned to Maryland to be closer to family. She spent two years practicing public health dentistry on Maryland's Eastern Shore while living in Annapolis, and it was there that she fell in love with the waterfront city and decided to call it home. That work also deepened her commitment to accessible, community-oriented care and to building long-term relationships with patients of all ages. Dr. Shaya joined the practice (then Chambers Family Dentistry) in January 2020.

A Lifelong Learner

Dr. Shaya is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Maryland State Dental Association. A firm believer that learning is lifelong, she completes continuing education across a wide range of dental topics, from restorative materials to minimally invasive techniques, to ensure she is always providing her patients the highest level of care.

Beyond the Office

When she isn't working, Dr. Shaya loves spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys exploring the great outdoors and traveling to new destinations. To learn more about Dr. Shaya or to schedule a visit with her at Riverfront Family Dental, please contact our office.
